Home Exercises for Elbow Stiffness

  • Active-Assisted Flexion/Extension (Towel Slide): Sit at a table with a towel under your hand. Slide your hand forward to straighten the elbow, and slide it back toward your chest to bend it, using your uninjured arm or body weight to gently push into the restriction.

  • Supination and Pronation Stretch: Keep your elbow tucked firmly at your side bent to 90 degrees. Use your opposite hand to gently rotate your palm upward (supination) and downward (pronation) until a mild stretch is felt.

  • Low-Load Prolonged Passive Stretch: Gently take the elbow to its maximum comfortable extension or flexion limit and hold the position with light overpressure for 30 to 60 seconds. Repeat 3 to 5 times daily. Do not force into sharp pain.
